About Peter Y. Kang, DO

Thank you for your interest in Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services of Maine.

I am a double board certified Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.  I attended the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, UNECOM, from 2005 to 2009.  I completed my General Psychiatric Residency training at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine/Tufts University School of Medicine, and stayed at Maine Medical Center for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship Program.  I had the privilege to help out as the co-Chief Resident for the CAP Fellowship Program and graduated from the program in 2014.  After graduating from the CAP Fellowship Program, I had the pleasure of working at InterMed, PA, a wonderful private practice in Portland, Maine, as an Integrated Psychiatrist in their Pediatric Department, and also spent a few months volunteering my time treating the underserved population in Portland, Maine at the Preble Learning Collaborative.  After about 4 years at InterMed, I left and founded Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Services of Maine, or CAPS of ME for short.  The doors opened in October 2018, and the practice has been growing steadily.  I also work per diem at Spring Harbor Hospital, in Westbrook, Maine, whenever they need a psychiatrist to help out.

I am a family man: I have 3 wonderful boys and I am very lucky to be married to their mother.  We enjoy the outdoors, movie nights, and playing games.  Please feel free to peruse the website or call the office if you have any questions.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Dr. K
